An effective service
At Fibre Core Communications, we are proud to offer an end-to-end client experience that is focused on seamless communication, in which each project is guaranteed to be delivered on time and within budget.
By placing our client’s needs at the forefront of our services, our teams of experts have become renowned for professional and transparent workmanship in and out of the field.
“I’m delighted to be a part of Fibre Cores training department, having a direct input in to the formation and shaping of the direct labour model is highly motivating. I’ll be using my skills and knowledge to introduce and train new recruits in all aspects of a fibre network build.”
Simon, Training and Development Manager
Survey & Design
Our Fibre Core Communications team has built an unrivalled reputation for surveying and design, in both cities and rural areas across the UK.
Surveys take place in areas that have low connectivity to ensure that our full-fibre network can have the most impact for our clients. Our team can then draw out the relevant plans and designs required to make sure the project can commence, before completing each job on time and on budget.
“The most enjoyable, rewarding and important part of any fibre build which requires a wide range of knowledge. A network can be designed in countless ways, but designing a network that incorporates minimal cable usage, taking up minimal duct space, utilising existing infrastructure and considers the number of splices and joints used takes a great deal of skill.”
Martin, Managing Director
TTR & Cabling
The Test Rod & Rope stage makes up part of the foundations of any network build. Identifying the correct civils and implementing key civils avoidance techniques to rule out unnecessary civils can sometimes be the making or breaking of a project. We leave no stone unturned. A network surveyed and TRR’d to the highest standard improves the success rate at the build stage.
We use UG & OH cabling techniques to delivery our networks, specialist equipment such as MEWPS make light work for even the toughest of builds.
“I’ve been cabling ug/oh for Fibre Core for the past 6 months, I like to think I’ve picked up this skill quite quick. Taking to time to learn basic techniques to assist in network builds has helped my progression in the Fibre industry. What once seemed like difficult pulls become easily achievable once you understand the limitations of the cables we’re pulling and why we use different techniques for different pulls.”

Splicing & Cabling
We pride ourselves on the standard of joints we produce, our splicers have a wealth of experience on all fibre builds. Enforcing our guys to pay particular attention to detail in terms of quality on poles and underground boxes goes a long way, minimising client defects is a goal we try to achieve on each project.
We only use the best testing equipment to ensure we get true readings for our clients, our preferred brands are Exfo and Amritsu.
“I’ve been splicing for Fibre Core for the past 3 years, I’ve worked across multiple projects during my time and used a variety of different nodes and joints. The ability to transfer your skills from build to build is a huge help, as a splicer I need to make sure that I produce top quality work whilst working under high pressures to meet deadlines. I like that each job presents its own difficulties. Although I complete the same skill, each job I visit is unique.”

Civil Engineering
We are fully equipped to carry out all aspects of civil engineering on telecoms projects, new track, blockages, box builds, pole bends and full reinstatements. With us primarily being a fibre company, we enforce a mindset throughout our business that we are only to carryout civils activities if completely necessary.
We carryout civils to the highest standard, but use this skill set as a last resort to network builds.
“The civils aspect of a build is key, get the civils right and you will deliver time after time. Get the civils wrong and you’re forever chasing your tail. Making sure that the work is planned correctly and completed to the required standard is a must, incorrect or defective work can incur costly fines, this can have a huge impact to any project.”

Spine
Spine works are the backbone of any network build, our teams are fully kitted out with duct rod pushers to ensure any blockages raised are legitimately needed. We use Tornado and Fremco fibre blowers to introduce our cables to the network, covering an estimated 40km worth of blown cable per quarter.
Our specially trained spine jointers are all Ribbon trained to help us deliver our networks on time and to the highest standard.
“Carrying out spine work is very similar to traditional cabling, the main difference is that we pull in thicker cables. To do this we use specialist equipment such as trailers and winches, we also use civils avoidance techniques such as a duct rod pusher. Once our spine is in, we get to use top of the range equipment such as Tornado blowers to blow fibre cables thousands of meters. We also spend a lot of our time in manholes on the spine work so don’t expect to be coming home clean.”
